Bake the crust
- Preheat the oven to 350°F, then press the sugar cookie dough evenly into a round pizza pan. Bake for 15–18 minutes, until golden around the edges.
- Remove the crust from the oven and let it cool completely before topping. This cooling step prevents the frosting from melting.
Make the cream cheese frosting
- Beat the cream cheese and unsalted butter together until smooth. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, then continue beating until the mixture is smooth and fluffy.
Assemble and decorate
- Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the cooled sugar cookie crust. Cover the surface so the fruit has a stable base.
- Arrange blueberries in the top left corner to start the flag design. Use an even layer for a clear blue section.
- Arrange strawberry slices in rows across the remaining area to form the flag pattern. Keep the rows consistent so the design looks clean.
Serve and store
- Slice into wedges and serve chilled. Chilling firms up the frosting for neat, sliceable pieces.
- Store leftovers covered in the fridge for up to 2 days. Keep the fruit on top to maintain the flag look.
Notes
For the smoothest frosting, use cream cheese and butter that are softened but not warm—then beat only until fluffy so it doesn’t loosen. Refrigerate the assembled pizza in a covered container for up to 2 days; it’s not recommended to freeze because the berries and crust texture change after thawing. For a lighter option, use reduced-fat cream cheese in the frosting for a similar flavor with fewer calories.
